Great piece about the 'new breed' of the modern marketer. I've previously written a little about this and how I feel it isn't necessary to have a formal qualification to have a career in marketing, however I do agree with Brad that it's too easy now for anyone to claim they're a marketing 'guru' on their online professional profile.
Who are we to blame for this new breed of modern marketer? Google? They have after all turned millions of people into certified marketing professionals via the Digital Garage and Google Ads. Perhaps LinkedIn is itself to blame? Making it far too easy to announce yourself as a marketing guru.
