I know the word repulse is a bit dramatic, but it's my word of the week so just go with it. I wrote the article quoted below a month ago after struggling to come to terms with LinkedIn's new features. I thought this would be a Facebook scenario where you gradually just get used to it and begin to enjoy it again, but no. I absolutely despise it.
Using LinkedIn used to be a pleasure for me, especially when I worked in candidate sourcing for our job board. It was so simple, so easy. Now it's a total headache and I'm not being funny but what have they actually improved? All this change and it's still a pain in the arse to sort through connections and don't even get me started on the search situ.
I can't. Even. Deal.
Does anyone else still hate it?
I hate it personally. It's completely thrown me and I'm struggling to navigate my way around the site because they've just gone and changed it all! I don't doubt that I'll warm to it and get used to the new features, but for now, I'm missing the old version. I think that visually, it's great. This scenario is no different to every time Facebook used to change their design. We hated it at first but gradually, over time, you forget what the old version was like because you become so used to the update. I'm praying to God that this happens with the new LinkedIn design because as it stands, it's not an enjoyable user experience in my opinion.
